Anecdotes and short stories make up History. I have always been attracted to books which turn the telling of events in the past into the most exciting of adventures. An adventure which we can re-live when we discover it and which shows us how to face up to real life, because it is itself the story of real life. The history of Aviation is an exciting story of the discoveries, adventures, technological progress, feats and epics of the men who made them and made them possible, of the machines they built and used, of the courage and heroism that they have displayed in abundance from Rinhower where one man, Otto Lilienthal, made his last flight to the orbits of communications and navigation satellites, or the interplanetary probes which expand our knowledge of the universe and shape our daily lives. In the last hundred years the story of aviation has been the story of Man's progress. Aviation has been the driving force behind that progress and more than any other technology, the materials created to satisfy Man's will to fly have changed his life with their influence on industry, medicine, war and economics.
In this
section our aim is to bring together the story of Military Aviation in Spain. There are
many well documented books on the market written by learned historians or in many cases by
the people involved. It is not our intention to compete with them but to relate a few
anecdotes, facts and feats to enable those who are interested in the subject to delve into
other sources, and to tell the newcomer who discovers these pages in a readable and
entertaining way about the wonderful heroic deeds that our flyers have written into
history through the course of time.
To that end we have chosen the paths that we offer you here. There are certainly others, and perhaps even these will change according to your approval or your collaboration. For now we suggest a visit to :
