The MTU, object of pride.

The MTU system was well known by all the Squadron personal, pilots and mechanics alike, since every one of them had to pass through it before they could adapt to the F-104G.

During a visit by the Germans to the Squadron, two Captains that were in the group with General Steinhoff, were left behind so they could pass through the MTU and to ask the Captain in charge of the system if in reality every thing worked correctly as it had been mentioned.

The Spanish Captain answered by telling them to wait a few moments and in a few minutes, the entire MTU system started working, the armament, the fuel, the fuselage movements including the ejection seat simulated upwards doing the whole sequence of launching, leaving the Germans astounded.

After the bewilderment to see evrything working to perfection of the whole syatem, they confessed thet they had two MTU’s and that they never had been able to make both of them work let alone all of the systems at once.
