THE
PILOTS
462 Squadron pilot is an Air
Force officer that has flown Pillán, C-101 and F-5 in his training years before joining
the unit. In 153 Squadron (spanish F-18 OCU) at Zaragoza AFB, he spends six months
for conversion to the Hornet. So far many pilots have a high previous experience flying
Mirage F-1, former aircraft in Gando. When he reaches the Combat Ready calification he is
able to performance the Scramble Service and every kind of unit mission (fighter, bomber,
SEAD, TASMO, etc...).
Some pilots have high value
experience in Red Flag exercises and NATO Tactical Leadership Programme, even combat
experience in Bosnia War.
Since 1981 more than 80 pilots have been members of 462 Squadron.
